Week 1 Buongiourno!!!

Friday January 25, 2019

It is my third day at the MTC and I love it!! It's been super crazy busy and we've had a lot of repetition with rules and stuff but it's been great! I got super lucky, again, my district and the sorelle (sisters) in my district which are also my roommates are awesome and we have tons of fun!! I think my companion, Sorella Deschine, and I will do great together! I got here as an early check-in so the first night I got to go to devotional and even though I was super tired and REALLY hungry, it was awesome! A speaker form the Quorum of the Seventy spoke and unfortunately I can only remember his first name which was Carlos, haha. He shared his conversion story and taught the importance of missionary work and the chain effect it can have on someone's life. He told us don't get discouraged if we don't have tons of baptisms on our mission because just one person can turn into an eternal family, and if they become a missionary they will convert many as well and so on!
The food here is alright but it's definitely not Mom's food! And I need my snacks!!! So, I had to go buy some stuff from the MTC store! I have already been learning Italian and it is a little over whelming but it's going to be so cool!! I already memorized Moroni 10:5 in Italian!!(You can find the scripture in English right here) My teacher is awesome, he's so funny and he just got back from the Rome mission about six months ago! It is so fun to try and say little words here and there with the district! There were 30 new Italian going missionaries that came in on Wednesday and they said it's the biggest group they've got so far going to Italy! My companion here is also going to the Visitor's Center!
Today, I got to go to the temple and do an endowment session and it was a perfect start to the morning and it is so cool to have a bunch of missionaries all in there together! And I already have awesome blisters from walking around everywhere in new shoes, haha!
Hope everyone is doing great!

Love,

New Beginnings

Tuesday January 22, 2019

Rebekah arrived at the Pangborn Airport in East Wenatchee at about 10:30am.  She checked her luggage, got her boarding pass, and then had about an hour to "linger" with the family before going through security.  She had already said "goodbye" to her sisters; Rachel the day before as she flew back to Idaho for college and Faith earlier Tuesday morning as she left to attend her running start classes at Wenatchee Valley College. She was smothered by hugs from mom and dad and her two little brothers, Michael & Joseph.  She was also able to get some last minute hugs from her Uncle Keith, Nana & Papa, Grandpa Webb, Aunt Susan, Grandma Webb, and Uncle Ben.
The time finally came for her to go through security and board her plane.  A wide range of emotions were felt by all as she walked out of view to embark on this new chapter of her life(Mom, Dad, Michael, & Joseph stayed to watch the plane take off and fly off into the distance).
She flew to Seattle, and then on to Salt Lake City where she boarded a shuttle which would take her to the Missionary Training Center in Provo (Click hereto watch a virtual tour of the MTC)

She sent a text at 7:31pm Tuesday evening saying:

"Hey Mom and Dad, I am here safe and sound. They had us go to devo(devotional) before sending this. Now hopefully I'll go eat something, haha. Love you so much!!"
